What is “Neuroactive” Personal Training and Rehab?

The definition of “neuroactive” is to stimulate neural tissue. And you’re probably asking what on earth does this have to do with working out and getting fit??? It has everything to do with it! The Nervous System controls practically everything in your body. When you stimulate muscle and soft tissue neurologically, change WILL happen and very quickly. At Structural Strength & Wellness, we use innovative technology to speed up your body's own natural ability to grow muscle and heal at an accelerated rate. When given the right signals, your body can heal itself from injury, build muscle, and maintain a strong healthy neurological system which is key to everything in life. Just ask those that are avid users or visit our testimonial page and it all becomes clear. Did you know that most of our limitations are self-imposed? The body consistently regenerates itself and is capable of incredible things. Poor habits, responses to previous traumas combined with inappropriate inputs, over time, cause the body to create self-imposed blocks. We “remove those blocks” which stimulates the body to adapt, so that it can heal itself making lasting improvements. We help you to recalibrate your body to perform utilizing the resources it already has for maximum efficiency. This means better range of motion, elimination of pain, stronger muscles and better performance. Traditional training and rehabilitation many times fail to yield results.

We believe in the power of the human body and our program is designed to help you achieve a high level of neurological activation using the potential that is already present inside you, we just help you find it. Book a neuroactive training or rehab session to try it out for yourself.

Post Injury Rehabilitation

A lot of injuries are due to poor neuromuscular control. If you have a deficit in strength and coordination on one side of your body, it stands to reason, the other side will suffer. A significant “deficit” on one side of the body is a recipe for disaster because your muscles can’t protect you from injury. If one part of your body can’t produce enough force to perform a movement, guess what happens, that force is transferred to nearby musculature, ligaments and tissue to try to get the job done, this is called “over compensation” and leads to injury. Your nervous system controls your muscles so if that isn’t working like it should, over time, it will lead to poor activation patterns. Our post injury rehabilitation program focuses on detecting the dysfunctional patterns to initiate the body’s own healing process. This is achieved much quicker than with traditional therapy.

The Neurological Link to Pain: Replace Pain with Power

Did you know that pain is a neurological output and is not actually experienced in the body, but in the brain? Interesting concept, isn’t it? It’s a response to a perceived threat which doesn’t necessarily equal “injury”. Pain is sometimes just a signal your brain sends to limit movement to prevent injury when it thinks there is a potential threat. Many times, the brain will initiate a signal to protect an area long after an injury has healed. If neurological signals are blocked, then how is the muscle going to receive the message? This can present itself in the form of poor dysfunctional movements and sometimes quite a lot of pain. Sometimes pain can linger far beyond the injury itself, even as long as 20 years. When neurological control is restored by reeducating muscles and reestablishing the correct signal, pain is eliminated because proper movement has been restored and your functional again. Would it surprise you to know that some of these “blocks” in the neurological system can be fixed in as little as one session? We retrain your brain to send the correct signal to the area, so it can function like it is supposed to. We “restore” the healthy relationship between your brain and body teaching the brain how to function better on its own, that’s why results last after a session with us!!!

You're Stronger Than You Think

Reach goals you thought you never could because your stronger than you think. We know this because when your neurological system needs a tune up, your brain is limiting you from a movement, a weight, increased speed or simply just reaching down and picking something up off the floor like some of us. Don’t be upset with your brain, it just thinks it's protecting you so you don’t get injured and threaten your survival. Your performance is an “output” and most personal training programs focus on the “output” such as “try harder”. You can try as hard as you can and still not get anywhere because you actually need to work on your “input” and that’s what we do here at Structural Strength & Wellness. We help your brain learn how to “maximize” what your body can do.
